The Drin-KIT FOB Detector | Cellar Buoy automatically shuts off the product line when a keg empties or gas enters the beer line. This helps keep the beer line full during keg changes, reducing foam at the tap and preventing unnecessary beer waste.

Designed for professional draught beer systems, this beer FOB detector features 3/8" push-fit product inlet and outlet connections, a push-button bleed valve and a simple float release lever for quick resetting after changing a keg.

Supplied with a mounting bracket, the Cellar Buoy can be incorporated into new draught installations or fitted to compatible existing beer dispense systems.

What is a FOB Detector?

FOB stands for Foam on Beer. A FOB detector is installed in the beer line between the keg and the dispense point and is designed to detect when beer stops flowing from the keg.

When a keg runs empty and gas reaches the FOB, the internal float drops and shuts off the product line. This prevents gas and excessive foam from travelling further through the beer line.

Once a new keg is connected, the chamber can be bled and the float reset, allowing normal beer flow to resume.

Reduce Beer Waste When Changing Kegs

Without a keg FOB detector, gas from an empty keg can enter the product line and travel towards the tap. Staff may then need to run beer through the system to clear the gas and foam after connecting the replacement keg.

The Drin-KIT Cellar Buoy shuts off the line when the keg empties, helping keep the product line primed and reducing the amount of beer lost during keg changes.

This can be particularly useful on installations with longer beer lines where a greater volume of product is held between the keg and dispense point.

How to Reset the Cellar Buoy FOB Detector

After replacing an empty keg:

1. Connect the replacement keg to the draught system.
2. Use the push-button bleed valve to bleed the FOB chamber.
3. Release the internal float using the float release lever.
4. Allow the chamber to fill correctly with beer.
5. The beer line is then ready for normal dispense.
