Aston Beer Engine Cabinet Cylinder – Pre-2017

The Aston Cabinet Cylinder (Pre-2017) is a replacement cylinder for compatible older Aston cabinet beer engines manufactured before 2017.

Available in ¼ pint and ½ pint sizes, the cylinder can be supplied with or without a self-contained water jacket. Water-jacketed models help maintain the correct beer temperature while keeping the cooling circuit separate from the product.

An energised non-return valve is fitted to help prevent beer from flowing back down the line between pulls.

Important: This cylinder is designed for compatible pre-2017 Aston cabinet beer engines. Please check your existing cylinder and hand-pull model before ordering.

Installation and Fitting

Before removing the existing cylinder, drain the beer lines and cylinder to reduce waste and spillage.

1. Unscrew the pivot points near the base of the frame.
2. Remove the dispense tap and release the spring pin.
3. Remove the cylinder and tap assembly from the frame.
4. Loosen the hose clip securing the connection tube to the top-cap outlet.
5. Carefully pull the connection tube away from the cylinder.

To fit the replacement cylinder:

1. Slide the connection tube over the cylinder outlet.
2. Tighten the hose clip to create a secure, airtight connection.
3. Connect the cylinder clevis to the Aston quadrant using the spring clip.
4. Refit the dispense tap and pivot points.
5. Tighten the frame fixings securely, keeping the pivot points flush with the outside of the frame.

Connect the beer line to the lower hose tail using a suitable hose clip. Ensure all washers and seals remain correctly positioned to prevent air or product leaks.
